Quick unlikely celebrity pregnancy update, folks. Apparently, says the celebrity pregnancy gossip monkeys (cripes, am I one of them now?), Heroes star Hayden Panettiere, 19, is pregnant and the daddy is our very own TV presenter Steve Jones.
Yes, she of the impossible name to spell correctly (imagine how that child's going to feel when it has to learn to write its name) is reported to be with child on the aptly but rather tastelessly named TheSpreadIt.com.
The story comes with the requisite question mark in the headline, which amongst media folk means it doesn't matter if it's actually true. And it probably isn't.
The rumour seems to have no basis other than Hayden is quoted in a US magazine, Life & Style, saying she loves kids. "I always said I want four kids - I love kids. I would love to be a mum and to have a family. For Italians, it's the most important thing you can have."
Hayden was born in New York to a soap actress mum and a fireman dad. I've no idea if she actually is Italian, though she does have a misspelt Italian language tattoo on her back.
I also have no idea how that quote translates into Hayden is pregnant. I mean, I always said I want a fisherman's cottage in St Ives, a dog, an easy but utterly fulfilling job that gives me the summer off, and kids, but it's as likely to happen as Barack Obama giving birth. But hang on a minute...I am pregnant. Cripes, could it be true about Hayden too?
If it wasn't for the fact that Steve the inexplicably favourite arm candy of Hollywood stars Jones is the suggested daddy I might be duped into believing this one. Steve Jones settling down to fatherhood? About as likely as Russell Brand becoming a one-woman man, I'd say.
What's more, Hayden has a glittering career to contend with right now, and she's only 19. I know it didn't put Nicole Richie and Britney Spears off, but hey. Plus, she only just split with Heroes co-star Milo Ventimiglia in February.
In celebrity baby news of the more factual variety, superstar cyclist Lance Armstrong has definitely become a father. Girlfriend Anna Hansen gave birth on Thursday to a boy, Max. Armstrong announced the birth on Twitter.
