The mother of Baby P and her partner have been identified.
Tracey Connelly and her lover Steven Barker have been revealed as the couple who were responsible for the death of 17-month-old Peter Connelly.
It has also emerged that the third person involved in the case, Jason Owen, 37, is Barker's brother.
It's about time these people were identified - there's no reason why they should be allowed to hide from what they have done.
Peter's grandmother has told a tabloid newspaper that her daughter deserves to "rot in hell". I think we can all sympathise with her view.
Baby Peter died at his home in north London on the 3rd of August, 2007, after suffering months of torture and abuse. His injuries included a broken back.
Mary O'Connor, 59, told the Sun newspaper: "It has made me so angry that they were able to hide behind the court order."
"Now everyone will know who they are and what they have done. They killed my grandson and deserve everything coming to them.
"I haven't got any sympathy for her at all. Maybe now she will feel fear and understand what my grandson went through as he was being tortured to death.
"She robbed me of my grandson. My heart is broken and I'll never forgive her for that. I can't."
The father of Steven Barker and Jason Owen had similar feelings towards his sons.
"What they did was awful and they deserve to be punished," he told the Daily Mirror.
"I don't care what happens to them. Everyone thinks they are monsters and I don't think any different."
However, if these people are released from prison in the future it's now likely they will be given new identities to protect them.
Let's not forget one of the really scary things in this case is the fact that Peter was on the child protection register and had been seen at least 60 times by social workers and doctors, but was not taken into care.
