Heard of Tantrum, the children's hairdressing experience in Chelsea and Hamleys? It's a brand new hairdressers aimed at making the experience of saying goodbye to split ends a pleasurable one for both the kids and the parents.
The hairdresser has two rooms, one for the under 7's and one for the 8-14 year old age group. Moon, the under 7's room, has a ceiling decorated like the night sky and a miniature locomotive train weaving across the floor. Sparkly fairies, princes and castles adorn the walls, and little ones can retreat to a 'secret play room' at the back of the room. Most importantly each chair is equipped with its own TV, DVD player and games station, so that the time will fly by.
Older children, in particular girls, will prefer Vogue. Like its name suggests, Vogue is a more glamorous and sophisticated room. Visitors can take a seat at the juice bar, chill out in the games room or enjoy watching their style develop in the mirrors surrounded with movie star lights. Like the Moon room, each chair is equipped with a well stocked entertainment system.
Slightly makes me wish I was 13 again! For those that can't make it to the salon, you can still re-create the experience at home. Tantrum have released a range of hair care products to make the process of washing and drying hair as stress free and, most importantly tantrum free, as possible. The range is stocked at Tesco, and includes three different shampoos, two different conditioners and a detangler spray. All of the range is based on a gentle formula and uses allergy free fragrances.
The range starts at around £2.97 for the shampoos and conditioners, so they're budget friendly too.
