Maternity Wear: The Best Cosy Cardigans

Maternity Wear: The Best Cosy Cardigans

Now we're in September, I think it's safe to say that it's acceptable to splash out on a brand new winter wardrobe. Pack those bikinis and vest tops away, and embrace comfy knitwear!

One of my favourite pieces of a winter wardrobe is a cosy cardigan, perfect for slipping on over a t-shirt and adding a chic touch to your look. Cardigans are a great buy during pregnancy as you can often wear them after the arrival of your baby.

This cardigan on the right is from ASOS.com and has the studded detail that has been all over the catwalks and high street recently. I love the way the funky studded detail goes all around the hems, but it's still subtle enough for everyday use. It's £38 which is great for such an "on trend" item.

Here are a few more winter warmers:

This contrast longline cardigan from ASOS.com is £22 and is a long length flattering cut with contrasting sleeves, pockets and buttons. It's a great partner for a pair of indigo jeans and ballerina flats.

This is my third ASOS.com choice, but I am a big range of their maternity wear! A lot of their maternity range takes inspiration from the normal women's range, so you don't have to adjust your style too much just because you're expecting. This waterfall cardigan has a long loose shape but can be bought in above your bump with the belt. It's £30

This budget friendly maternity cardigan from Peacocks is only £16, and has a lovely tie detail just above your bump. The slight ballooning of the sleeves is a nice touch too.

Even cheaper is this maternity slouch cardigan from ASDA at £12, with an unusual pocket detail and contemporary stripe pattern.

Woolworths have also come up trumps in the maternity wear area, with this South cardigan that's probably best suited for the earlier months of pregnancy. It's £25 and I'm sure it will be suitable post pregnancy too.
