Man Uses Baby To Shield Himself From A Taser Gun

In an amazing act of cowardice, a man threatened with a Taser gun picked up a baby to shield himself, it has been reported.

Jorge Garcia, from Deltona, Florida, USA, was involved in an argument in a car, according to the Daytona Beach News-Journal.

Garcia was reportedly swearing at police and acting in an "irrational manner" towards them. He refused several commands to get in his vehicle and leave.

When officers tried to arrest him, he reportedly got in his car and refused to get out.

As he resisted arrest, police officers were ordered to fire a taser gun at him.

Garcia then allegedly grabbed a baby sitting next to him and held the child in front of his body, telling police several times: "Tase the baby".

Niiice. I hope he's proud of himself...

Police managed to get the baby, who was unharmed, away from Garcia and two officers then used their Tasers on him, according to the sheriff's report.

The man then finally cooperated with police and was arrested.

The 39-year-old has been charged with child neglect without great harm and resisting an officer without violence.

His wife, Tangeca, 35, was also arrested and charged with two counts of resisting an officer without violence, the report said.

Tangeca Garcia apparently interfered with police officers' efforts to arrest her husband. She hugged her husband and got between the police and her husband, blocking officers from firing their Tasers at him, the report said.

Garcia and his wife have now been released from the Volusia County Branch Jail after posting $6,500 and $500 bail.

It is not clear whether the pair are the parents of the child or not.

If they are, this could be an early candidate for Father of the Year...
