Recently we reported on the DVD player that automatically filters out any 'inappropriate' content. But new research reveals that many parents are choosing to let their children watch films and play games that are intended to be for adults only.
The research, conducted by the discount code and voucher site, MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, found that 85 said that they had knowingly allowed their child to listen to music knowing that it contained explicit lyrics.
The top offender for music was rapper Eminem, after two in three of those who allowed their children to listen to lyrically explicit music, had let their child have the record. 23, over half, 53 said that they had watched it without prior consent at a friend's house.
The game that most parents had let their child play before turning 18 was Grand Theft Auto, with 39 citing this reason. A further one in four said that they did not realise the item was unsuitable at the time of allowing their child to have it.
What do you think? Do you censor the music, movies and games that your child enjoys? Do you follow the age ratings or use your own judgement? Leave a comment and have your say
