Best-Selling Pregnancy Book Set To Hit The Big Screen

The best-selling pregnancy book "What To Expect When You're Expecting" is set to become a film.

Written by Heidi Murkoff with Sharon Mazel, the book gives advice to anyone going through their first pregnancy. The film looks set to take parts of the advice given, and apply them to the stories of seven pregnant couples. The film will follow the couples throughout the nine months of their pregnancy.

So far, so "He's Just Not That Into You".

The book will be adapted for screen by Heather Hach, screenwriter of Freaky Friday and Legally Blonde: The Musical.

Heather discovered the book, also known as 'The Pregnancy Bible', when she fell pregnant and a friend gave it to her as a gift. Hopefully this means the scripts will have an aspect of her personal reflection in it too.

The book has previously been named as one of the top 25 influential books of the past 25 years according to USA Today. If the film is successful there's the potential for a whole series of films, as the book has sequels including "What To Expect The First Year" and "The Toddler Years".

Done well, this movie could be great for new parents to relate too. Done badly, and you've got yet another rom-com with a novelty aspect.
