Iceland Is Looking For A "Real Mum" To Star In Campaign

The supermarket chain Iceland is searching for a "real person" to be the new "face" of the brand.

Kerry Katona was fired last year after drugs allegations and Loose Women star Coleen Nolan has recently quit.

So the chain has given up on celebs and is now looking for a "down-to-earth" customer to take over instead.

There will be X-Factor style auditions with Coleen Nolan joining the judging panel.

Customers are being asked to apply for the role of "New Face" and live auditions will start around the UK at the end of March.

An Iceland spokesperson said: ''Coleen Nolan is undoubtedly a hard act to follow.

''So after long, hard consideration, we've decided not to try and replace her. Instead we're turning the spotlight on our customers to give them a chance.

"At Iceland, our customers are very important to us, especially mums and we know they have a great deal of affection for our brand.

"Just like Coleen, we're looking for a new face who loves Iceland and is the perfect blend of personality and charm.

"Someone who is enthusiastic about Iceland and is literally bursting for the chance to tell everyone else about it."

Presumably they're also looking for someone who won't be pictured in the tabloids snorting coke. Eh Kerry?

Coleen said: "I'm delighted that Iceland have asked me to be part of the judging panel for their New Face competition.

"I've loved my time working with them and I'm looking forward to helping them find a face for the future that can represent their brand."

A shortlist of five people will be selected by a judging panel led by Coleen and watched over by the Iceland CEO Malcolm Walker.

Then Iceland customers and members of the public will pick the eventual winner, casting their votes online, with the New Face announced in April.
