I'm 5 And This Is My Diary: New Words

I'm 5 And This Is My Diary: New Words

Monday

Boys have testicles and girls don't. They don't have anything. Testicles was my new word last week. I heard it in kindergarden and I didn't know what it meant. I asked mummy and she explained it and showed me some pictures. They were funny, and a bit yucky. Mummy says it is good to learn new words and I should to try to learn a new word every day. When I've got a new word the best way to remember it is to make a sentence using it. I had to think for a long time then I told her I had a sentence. Octopuses live in the sea and have eight testicles. Mum thought that was really funny so I think it was a good sentence!

Today the teacher told Emily that she can be very exasperating. I thought that sounded like a cool word but when I asked daddy he said things that are exasperating are things that make you angry and mad. Not so good for Emily then.

Instead of a sentence I decided to make a list of things that are exasperating for me:

Bathtime

Vegetables

Going to bed

Getting up

When the cat won't play dress up

My Auntie Doris always kissing me

Auntie Doris's lipstick

Sitting still

Rain

Shoes with laces

Running out of ketchup

Buttons

Mummy said to stop there before I get maudlin.

That will be my word for tomorrow.
