Buy A Maternity Top And Help Prevent Malaria

We're into the second week of Fairtrade Fortnight, and The Big Swap is in full swing. Last week we showed you ten products to swap for fairtrade alternatives. This week, we've got a maternity top that's not only certified Fairtrade, but also allows you to contribute to preventing malaria in third world countries.

The Love and Luck Maternity Top on the right is from Akua-Ba for Bb London UK. Available in a variety of colours (grey, fuschia, white and black) this maternity top also comes with a West African wooden lucky charm that's said to bring luck to a new mother and child.

The added benefit to buying this top is that for every one sold, a mosquito net is sent to a pregnant woman in Burkina Faso to protect her and her unborn baby from the risks of malaria.

You can buy the top for £49, and it's also available gift-wrapped, so it would make the perfect gift for a mum-to-be.

So, now we'd like to hear from you. What are you swapping for Fairtrade Fortnight? Do you usually consider buying Fairtrade products when shopping?
