Boy Celebrates His Birthday By Setting A World Record

Forget hiring a bouncy castle or arranging a trip to the cinema to celebrate your child's birthday. How about helping them attempt to break a world record and raise money for someone else at the same time?

This was the tenth birthday celebration American Jack Singer decided on last week. But his world record beating achievement was one with a difference.

He set the new world record for the number of underpants worn at the same time. The number of pairs he managed to don? 215!The boy from Warwick, New York, apparently took 18 minutes to get into the 215 pairs of pants with help from his parents.

Jack had to lie down after the 195th pair because his circulation started to suffer and his feet were asleep. But he managed to beat the record by 15 pairs.

"I feel the most excited in my life," he told the Times-Herald Record.

Not only was this a birthday celebration with a difference thanks to the unusual record he set, but Jack declined gifts, asking instead for donations to help Marine Sgt Eddie Ryan who was injured in Iraq five years ago.

What an inspiring kid.
