Help us settle a debate at ParentDish: While we all agree the young girls in the video are fantastic dancers, we're torn when it comes to their costumes. Are their ensembles too sexy for their age or completely appropriate?
The pint-size dancers performed the routine at World of Dance Pomona 2010 in California, USA. Unconfirmed reports state that the girls are 7-years-old, and World of Dance organizers did not return ParentDish's calls.
Whilst this dance performance happened across the pond - we wondered if here in the UK parents had been to a similar event with their children recently and if these costumes are considered de rigueur - not shocking or provocative. Of course, costumes are part of a dancer's artistic expression, adding drama to the performance while allowing them to move. But do prepubescent girls need to express themselves in bra tops, little shorts and fishnet suspenders?
