Diary Of A 5-Year-Old: Magic Hole Things

Mummy says we have to start being more careful with money. But I don't really know why. It's easy to get money when you need it, I've seen how you do it. All you have to do is go to the money hole thingy in the walls outside. They are all over the place. But mummy says the reason she goes out everyday to work is so she can get more money for us and that's

what you have to do when you are a grown up. But why do you have to do that if you can just go to the magic hole thing?

Yesterday daddy played hide-and-seek with me before he had to go to work. I wanted to keep playing. He said he really really wanted to keep playing with me but he had to go and make money for us.

I think that grown ups are just children who make money.

So I thought that I could make some money too. I told dad and mummy that from now on there will be no more free kisses and stuff. If any grown ups want to kiss me or hug me they have to pay 20p. If it's Auntie Barbara with the hairy chin then she has to pay 30p. And if they want to kiss me and hug me at the same time it will be two times 20p....I'll ask mummy how much that is.

But mummy and dad don't have to worry because they only have to pay 10p.

Mummy laughed a bit when I told her but dad was very serious and said he though it was a very good idea. He used a long word, enter-something, but I can't remember what it was now.

Mummy said we can save some money by not buying as many sweeties but I said we should save money by not buying as much broccoli. Or Carrots.
