Spring 2010 Trend Report: Lovely Lights

01/09/2010 07:00 | Updated 22 May 2015

This spring and summer, let your favourite sweets inspire your dressing style. Thinking that sounds too good to be true? Burberry's Christopher Bailey sent sorbet-coloured dresses and trenches down the catwalk, while Phoebe Philo at Celine made nude the hottest colour of the season with her butterscotch and caramel hues. Or take inspiration from the shades of your favourite spring blossoms: duck blue orchids, yellow hydrangeas and pink roses make up the palette for the warmer months of 2010.

The best part about rocking these lighter hues? You can keep it simple with just one colour, add a bit frill with some ruffles or lace, or even layer multiple shades together - pastels complement one another perfectly, and nude and light grey work with everything.

For some inspiration, check out these runway looks below, and see which celebs have already stepped into the light.

This season, it's cool to be pale.
