Newborn Baby Found Dumped In A Plane Toilet Bin

Airport cleaners discovered an abandoned newborn baby boy in a plastic bag inside a toilet bin of an aircraft on Saturday.

Investigators believe that the mother of the baby must have given birth in the aircraft, a Gulf Air jet which was flying to the Philipines from Saudi Arabia. Police are now trying to track her down.

The baby was found by cleaners who boarded the plane after it landed in Manila. The immediately raised the alarm and doctors rushed to check the newborn was in good health.

Officials at the airport said they had named the baby, George Francis, based on the Gulf Air's airline code, GF. His nationality has not yet been determined.

Authorities admit they are baffled as to how the woman had managed to conceal the in-flight birth from other passengers and return to her seat without drawing attention to herself. They are also surprised that no one else who had used the toilet noticed anything unusual.

Airline staff and medical personnel have clubbed together to buy clothes and other essentials for the baby, who weighs 6lb 6oz.
