Catwalk Review: Erin Fetherston S/S 2011

INSPIRATION: A sense of adventure and traveling to far flung locales.

TOP LOOKS: A belted buff v-neck cocktail dress with intricate folds and a rose silk underlay; bright orange silk dress with a sweetheart neckline and sheer nude panel; lemongrass-hued short suit worn with a light yellow top.

ACCESSORIES: Straw hats by Eugenia Kim; brown leather heels with gold hardware by Aldo; crystal encrusted starfish- and shell-shaped clutches by Judith Leiber; other jewellery by Yazbukey

WHO WAS THERE: Kelly Osbourne, Reni Lane, Damon Dash

WHAT WE THOUGHT: Although it wasn't our favorite collection from Fetherston (the parade of silk wrap disco dresses seemed a bit generic), there were some definite highlights to the show.

Billowing poet sleeve blouses tucked into sharply tailored shorts and trousers, little white summer dresses paired with "Out of Africa" straw hats and vibrant green kimono-inspired silk pieces were all pretty enough.

But the few pieces that really shone included those that were those that showed real attention to detail - like a layered and multi-pleated buff-hued belted dress with a matchy, but not too matchy, rose-colored silk underlay - as well as the interesting bolts of colour seen in the images above.
