Best Buys: Children's Rainwear

Kit your children out in waterproof gear this autumn and winter and there'll be no need for rain to stop (outdoor) play.

Here's our pick of some of the best rainwear on offer.

KoziKidz Rain Suits (jacket plus dungarees), £34, www.kozikidz.co.uk

Brightly-coloured and superbly practical jacket and dungaree sets from Swedish company Kozi-Kidz. Unlike flimsier rainwear these really are 100 cotton jersey linings to keep the insides soft but snug. A co-ordinating raincoat costs £24.99. Toddler size 5 to size 12.

Beebyhart Carricover Lite, £21.95, www.beebyhart.com

Baby carriers and slin

gs are fantastically convenient for times when you'd rather leave the pushchair at home, but they can leave your baby exposed to the elements. This lightweight waterproof cover fits over most brands of slings and carriers and folds down small enough to be slung in your handbag between uses. It can also be worn as a rainsuit in a pushchair and fits babies up to nine months of age.

Alternatively: prefer a pushchair? A raincover is an absolute must to keep them dry. If your pushchair didn't come with one, Mothercare sells 'universal' single or double covers which should fit most standard shape models.

Kidorable Umbrellas, £6.94, www.stylechild.co.uk

Kidorable's children's brollies are sure to make a dull and dreary day that bit cheerier. Shown here is the funky frog design but there are also cats, sheep, and an array of other animals to choose from plus fairies, firemen and dinosaur themes. Each forms part of a range of matching gloves, hats, scarves, raincoats, wellies and other products.
