Katy Perry Banned From Sesame Street Because Of Her Boobs

While Katy Perry's skimpy outfits - especially around the chest area - have become her sartorial calling card, the folks at Sesame Street think it's all a bit too racy for their squeaky-clean children's programme.

According to Fox News, Perry recorded a segment for the series due to air on New Year's Eve, but after a snippet was shown on the kiddie show's YouTube channel, parents got concerned over the amount of skin Perry was flashing.

In the clip, Perry tries to coax Elmo into playing dress up with her while wearing a wedding veil (an obvious nod to her own upcoming nuptials to Russell Brand) and an acid green dress with a sweetheart neckline that shows off her ample cleavage, despite being concealed under a flesh-coloured mesh panel.

After numerous parents posted negative comments about the suggestive outfit, Sesame Street released a statement saying that due to the "feedback we've received" they decided to axe Perry's appearance on the holiday episode.

Frankly, we're a bit surprised the powers that be at Sesame Street didn't weigh in on Perry's ensemble before the cameras started rolling.

This is, after all, the same girl who has shown up in her videos completely naked (save for a purple wig), wearing a bikini top constructed out of cupcakes and cherries, singing about "going all the way" with a guy, and suggestively licking ice cream cones.

But we want to know what you think: Is Perry's Sesame Street segment too much for the kids? Let us know in a comment below.
