Shop The Trend: 70s Heroine

One trend that emerged on the catwalks this season and doesn't look to be fading fast is a modern take on 1970s heroine dressing: jumpsuits, high-waisted, kick-flare trousers, silk blouses, platform shoes, caramel tones and gold hardware. It's worth investing in a piece or two - say, a camel coat or a pussybow blouse - because the 70s are back for spring (think peasant dresses and sexy thigh slits courtesy of Marc Jacobs by way of YSL).

Halston Heritage and Biba are two labels that will help you get inspired with boho maxis, asymmetrical pieces and plenty of gold lamé, while the high street has fabulous platform shoes and tailored trousers. Dig around in your wardrobe for a vintage cape or coat and you've got this look in the bag.
