Shop The Trend: Minimal Impact

18/10/2010 17:22 | Updated 22 May 2015

Thanks to the likes of Stella McCartney and Celine's Phoebe Philo, minimal luxe has come to the fore for autumn/winter - if you don't believe us just look at swathes of camel, grey and nude tones in stores right. Forget yell-it-from-the-roof tops, OTT dressing; Minimal Impact is about classic, timeless and - above all - understated luxury.

And because detailing - buckles, buttons, pattern and embellishment- is stripped right back, this is the time to focus on high quality tactile fabrics like suede, leather and cashmere, and clean silhouettes.

But the trend doesn't need to break the bank; we've found that a pair of tapered trousers, a crisp white shirt and hair scraped in a bun is a fuss-free (and cost effective) way to rock the look.

If you want to amp up the sex appeal just a little, inject some Mad Men sensibility into proceedings with a curve-skimming tailored shift dress. Just look to everyone's favourite Spice Girl-turned-designer Mrs Beckham for inspiration.
