Want to swap the daily office workwear drudge for bit of Mad Menglamour, without looking like you're en route to a 60s-themed costume party? We have just the thing.

Mad Men's costume designer Janie Bryant has penned a guide to finding you inner leading lady. From Joan's pencil skirts, to Betty's Grace Kelly cupcake dresses, Ms Bryant explains why it's hip to dress well again.

We caught up with her this week to find out more."I love dressing up and the book really began with that" Bryant told us, "for so long the focus has been on dressing casual and I feel like we lost that art - this book, I hope, is about finding new ways of doing that".

The Emmy Award-winning costume designer focuses on the essentials that every woman should have in their wardrobe, plus the tricky art of mixing vintage with contemporary pieces. She also gives a sneak peek inside the dressing room of Mad Men.

The Fashion File by Janie Bryant and Monica Corcoran Harel is available from October 25, priced £16.99
