Lily Allen and her partner Sam Cooper have announced they have lost their unborn child.
Six-months pregnant Miss Allen was rushed to hospital on Thursday suffering from stomach pains. In a statement , the couple's representative said:
'It is with great sadness that we have to confirm that Lily Allen and Sam Cooper have lost their baby. The couple ask that their privacy be respected and that they be left alone at this deeply distressing time. No further comment will be made.'
Lily and Sam, 32, began dating last year. She revealed she was pregnant in August after having her twelve-week scan.
In recent months she had all but retired from music to concentrate on family life and the vintage clothes business, Lucy In Disguise, which she set up with her sister, Sarah Owen.
Lily also suffered a miscarriage in January 2008, when she was expecting a baby with her then-partner, Chemical Brothers star Ed Simmons.
Just a week ago Lily was saying her long term goal was to have kids, not make music.
