While Christmas is typically a time for engagement announcements (congratulations Reese Witherspoon, Lily Allen and James Corden), it was a very different story for Rihanna. The Only Girl (in the World) singer spent Christmas in her native Barbados alone, after splitting from long-term love Matt Kemp.
Her relationship with the baseball star is reportedly a casualty of their hectic schedules, and sources say Kemp was tired of coming second to RiRi's work commitments. The pair had been together since January and it was Rihanna's first serious relationship following her acrimonious split from Chris Brown.
The split has not yet been officially confirmed by the singer herself, but if true, it will only add to the recent spate of Christmas celebrity break-ups, including Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Gosling, Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter and Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens).
