Vogue Paris has just announced that its fashion director, Emmanuelle Alt will be taking the position of Editor-In-Chief, following the surprise departure of Carine Roitfeld last month.

Alt is credited with styling some of the magazine's most memorable spreads since joining the Vogue Paris team in 2000. The fashion journalist is also vocal in her admiration for the late Michael Jackson, specifically his sense of style.

In fact, Alt was one of the biggest advocates of the recent boulder shoulder trend, sparked by the Jacko-esque shoulder padded creations from Balmain's autumn/winter 2009/10 show. She even style Balmain's ad campaign.

We look forward to the weird and wonderful trends that she'll bring to the fashion world now that she's got the top spot at the magazine...
