We Love...Prada's Illustrated Sunglasses

Remember those amazing cartoon-like sunglasses from Prada's spring/summer 2011 collection? Well, Prada is producing a limited run of 500 pairs of the fantastical eyewear to be sold in stores.

And the promotion lives up to the hype. But rather than using the models du jour to show off the goods, they turned to fashion illustrators. "To underscore the uniqueness and creativity which lie behind the production of these accessories Prada has opted to given an account of eyewear through the work of three illustrators Ivo Bisignano, Marcela Gutierrez and Andrea Tarella", Prada explained. We think it's a good fit; after all, the sunglasses are like mini works of art.

The Minimal-Baroque capsule collection will be sold starting in February at limited Prada boutiques and specialist department stores.
