The mood: From bananas at Prada, to Art Deco inspired patterns at Diane Von Furstenburg, prints were the statement-makers on the catwalk this season. This trend goes hand in hand with the urge for colour, as bold, bright and brash prints lead the way.
The must-haves: From jackets to skirts, prints should be prominent, whether they're floral or oriental inspired. Those confident enough will layer print on print, but a short, summer dress emblazoned with a colourful graphic is sure to stand out.

Spring/summer 2011: Prints
Classic styles were well and truly shaken up at Christopher Kane, with swirling, tatttoo inspired prints emblazoned on pencil skirts and twin sets.
Famous for his florals, Erdem did not disappoint with his s/s collection. Bright and bold summer flowers were seen on flared skirts and sundresses teamed with tide-up the calf shoes from Nicholas Kirkwood.
If there was one show of the season that screamed electric colour and brazen prints, it was Louis Vuitton. Marc Jacobs showcased glamorous, Oriental styles mixed with free-flowing silhouettes and flamboyant gowns.
The super star theme of Miuccia Prada's show was empahsised in every detail of the collection. Silver and neon brights enhanced the star shaped appliqué that brought formal jackets and knee-length skirts right up to date.
Fun and frivolous prints led the way on the Moschino catwalk. Polka dots, gingham and floral patterns in candy colours will put a smile on every fashionista's face.
Exotic prints in high voltage colours were seen on conical shaped hats and mini dresses at Alberta Ferritti's collection for Philosophy.
The citrus fruit print looked good enough to eat at the Stella McCartney show. The vibrant, fresh colours contrasted with blacks and neutrals elsewhere in the collection.
Vertical stripes and geometric patterns stole the show at Versace. The collection embraced power dressing with that extra bit of attitude.
Strong Art Deco prints on playsuits and maxi dresses were the highlight of Diane Von Furstenberg's show.
