As well as planning a wedding, brides and grooms to be also have the somewhat difficult task of searching for the dream honeymoon destination. Should it be two weeks relaxing on a Caribbean beach or a romantic getaway in the Tuscan hills?

Dr Peter Slowe, founder of Projects Abroad, has discovered that couples are staying away from the obvious holiday choices and embarking on month long adventure holidays. Newlyweds are taking 'honeymonths' in far flung destinations such as Peru, Fiji and Cambodia, and swapping a day by the pool for volunteering projects.
