There were doubts over whether she was actually expecting at all, so minuscule was her bump, but former Big Brother contestant Chanelle Hayes has now cast aside any doubts over her pregnancy by announcing the birth of her baby son.
Sticking firmly to the modern celebrity rule book on birth announcements, Miss Hayes chose to tell the world of her news via Twitter: 'Happiest day of my life. I'm a mummy and my baby is beautiful. X' she wrote, presumably from her hospital bed at around 11a.m yesterday morning.
Her spokesperson later confirmed the reality star-turned-model had given birth to a boy in a Leeds Hospital at 6am.
The baby weighed 6lbs 9oz, and both mother and child were said to be 'doing well'.
The baby was the result of Chanelle's brief relationship with Middlesbrough footballer Matthew Bates. The couple separated when Chanelle was three months pregnant. Most recently she has been linked to Jade Goody's widower, Jack Tweedy, whom she dated between April and the beginning of July this year, splitting over his alleged reluctance to kerb his partying ways.
The 22-year-old recently commented that her baby will be the 'only boy' who'll be in her life forever.
