Lily Allen Baby Loss: 'It Changes A Person'

Lily Allen, who tragically lost her baby six months into her pregnancy last year, has spoken about her loss for a Channel Four documentary.

The three-part series, Lily Allen: From Riches To Rags, which was filmed last year, centres around Lily and her sister Sarah launching their vintage clothes store, Lucy in Disguise. The crew then returned in November and spoke to Lily after she lost her baby.

'It was a really long battle,' she tells the programme makers, 'And I think that kind of thing changes a person.'

We reported Lily and partner Sam Cooper's loss last November, when she was admitted to hospital suffering from stomach pains. At the time, her representative told us: 'It is with great sadness that we have to confirm that Lily Allen and Sam Cooper have lost their baby. The couple ask that their privacy be respected and that they be left alone at this deeply distressing time. No further comment will be made.'

Lily and Sam, 32, began dating last year and she announced her pregnancy in August, 2010. Lily had sadly already suffered a miscarriage back in January 2008, when she was expecting a baby with her then-partner, Chemical Brothers star Ed Simmons.

The couple announced their engagement shortly after losing their baby, and her sister subsequently told reporters that Lily was determined to fall pregnant again in 2011.
