Catwalk Review: Ashish A/W 2011/12

DESIGNER: Ashish

INSPIRATION: Down and out in the punk era.

TOP LOOKS: Sequin embellished tartan prints in yellows, greens and pinks, striped shirts worn under disheveled knitwear and spider webs drawn onto models' knees.

WHO WAS THERE: Paloma Faith, Amber Rose, Marina Diamandis.

WHAT WE THOUGHT: The use of smooth, sparkling tartan next to rough, torn up textures was a fun, unique way of portraying a British-inspired look. The use of multi-coloured layers, ruffled jackets and loose fitting shorts gave a subtle nod to Vivienne Westwood's tousled designs, but Ashish still managed to put its own stamp on eccentricity.
