Lady Gaga has shared details of her beauty regime with People magazine and for one so fond of extravagance and artistry it's surprisingly simple.

The star revealed that early in her life Mama Gaga taught her the importance of washing her face with Ivory soap and, like many of us, the last thing she does before bed each night is brush her teeth.

Gaga's not always a beauty role model though. When asked how many times a week she commits the ultimate skincare faux pas and falls asleep without removing her makeup she answered 'Seven.'

The singer also acknowledged that her bleach blonde hair and extreme footwear have caused her some beauty angst. Apparently sometimes Gaga has to "get a chemical haircut because my blonde hair is falling out". She's also dying for a footrub as a consequence of her heels.

When not rebelling against conventional beauty wisdom Gaga does offer some good tips. The product she always keeps in her beauty bag is sunblock ("I don't like to tan my face because it's bad for wrinkles") and her best piece of beauty advice is to be yourself. "Just go with your gut. Whenever you try to be someone else, it's boring."
