Nursery Worker In Court On Child Rape Charges

nursery worker charged with child rape casesNursery worker Paul Wilson, 20, is due in court today accused of two counts of rape on a toddler at a childcare provision in Nechells, Birmingham, between January 2009 and July 2010.

Police said footage of the alleged rapes was found on a mobile phone belonging to Wilson. The phone was found during a search of the home he is thought to share with his mother, her partner and an 11-year-old boy.

Wilson was arrested at his home on Wednesday. He had worked at The Little Stars Day Nursery for 18 months. Neighbours described him as a 'loner' who spent all his spare time on his computer.

The nursery was closed yesterday as investigations began.

Supt Matt Ward told reporters: 'We've taken a computer and other electrical equipment from the suspect's house and this is being examined, but at present nothing tells us material had been distributed.'

He said the edvidence suggested 'there was only one victim and only one offender'.
