New Mums Pull More Sickies

New Mums Pull More Sickies

A new report shows the amount of sick leave taken by women rockets after they have their first baby.

The findings reveal that new mothers take twice as many days off 'sick' as men once they have had a baby.

The study, which was undertaken by Sweden's Institute of Labour Market Policy, blamed the pressure women feel to maintain their careers and still look after their children. It claims the figures continue for 15 years after birth, with women continuing to take more time off than men.
