If you're looking for a DVD guaranteed to entertain the family over the Easter holidays, check out the latest full length animated film from Scooby Doo and his mystery-solving pals.

Scooby Doo! Abracadabra-doo is released this week, and is the 14th full length film from this hugely successful classic cartoon. Can you believe this gang has been together since 1969 and is still finding mysteries to solve?

Casey Kasem has now retired from doing the voice of Shaggy, and his duties are taken by Matthew Lillard, who has played the role in two live action films.

Whilst the classic format remains the same, our heroes are now online and the Mystery Machine has got its own GPS system. The story has a slight whiff of Harry Potter, as the gang set out on a trip to visit Daphne's sister Madelyn, who has been studying magic at the Whirlen Merlin Magic Academy.

However, when they arrive, they find out that the school has been troubled with strange disturbances and a lot of the pupils have run away after being scared by a mysterious giant Gryphon. Mystery Inc. smell trouble and go to investigate!

DVD bonus material includes a featurette "Scooby-Doo and Puppets Too" where you can learn how to make your own scary Gryphon puppet.

This is great fun, and classic entertainment that the whole family will enjoy. Whilst there are minor league scary bits, and it's a PG certificate, you'd have to be trying really hard to get spooked by this. Here's a snippet:
