There are many lengths women would go to in order to achieve the perfect body and weight. But would you trade part of your life if it meant you could have your ideal shape?

If a survey commissioned by the eating disorders charity The Succeed Foundation is anything to go by, a third of women would give up a year of their life in order to look good.

That's not the only thing women said they would sacrifice, the survey suggests. Thirteen percent said they'd be happy to lose £5,000 from their annual salary if it meant they could be thinner, while 9 even said they'd sacrifice their health.

Even more worryingly, one percent of the women surveyed claimed they would trade 21 years or more of their life for the ideal body weight and shape.

The survey was carried out by experts at British Universities and involved 320 women between the ages of 18 and 65.

The charity claims it shows just how common body dissatisfaction is among women of all ages, with 95% admitting that they'd recently had negative thoughts about their appearance. And while 79 percent said they'd like to lose weight (the average amount being more than a stone), the majority of the women surveyed were actually either of normal weight or underweight.

On a more positive note, when asked which celebrity has the best body, curvy Kelly Brook came top, followed by Beyoncé, Jessica Alba and Scarlett Johansson.
