Happy 5th Birthday Notonthehighstreet.Com

notonthehighstreet.com, the multi award-winning marketplace which showcases 1,800 of the UK design world's most creative small businesses is celebrating its fifth birthday.

The Royal Wedding cake stand is made by up-cycling found and unloved glass and china with illustrations drawn by hand directly onto the surface

Back in 2006, founders Holly Tucker and Sophie Cornish set out: "...to create a place where you could find all those charming, unique and carefully-made things that you sometimes stumble across in cool urban markets, village fairs and tucked-away boutiques. A place that was quick and easy to get to, where shopping was simple and fun, and where you could always find the most inspirational and wonderful things." Mission accomplished.

To celebrate its fifth birthday and to tie in with William & Kate's hotly anticipated big day (only 25 more sleeps), notonthehighstreet.com teamed up with hundreds of its talented designer makers and challenged them to create five unique royal wedding memorabilia pieces.

Click here to take a look at the five winning pieces, which include an upcycled cake stand, comedy mugs ("Harry's Hotter" and "I was Fergie's Plus One" are among my personal favourites) and a Ticket to Marriage art print.

But if you're one of the few who really couldn't care less about the upcoming nuptials, there's plenty more on offer on the site, which has pretty much everything from wellies to pet accessories via bakeware and bracelets.
