Anne voices the character of Jewel in the family-friendly movie, about a shy parrot who flees the safety of his cage to head to the exotic climes of Rio.
But it wasn't just Anne's gorgeous purple fringed Gucci frock that got people talking - not to mention the fab matching gladiator heels. The actress opted to accessorise her red carpet styling with a low key school-girl ponytail, and thick-rimmed geek chic spectacles.
Whether the 28-year-old actually needs to wear glasses, or if her eyewear was just a style statement, we're not entirely sure. Nevertheless, it made for an uncharacteristic look from Ms Hathaway - and the MyDaily jury is out on this one...
