Diary Of A 6-Year-Old: A Round Twit

I'm allowed to stay up until midnight tonight because it's the night before next year.
Mr and Mrs Wright from next door are having a party and I'm allowed to go. I heard Dad saying to Mummy that he doesn't think I'll be able to stay awake until midnight but I bet I will.

Mrs Wright came over yesterday to talk about the party with mummy. Mrs Wright wanted to know if I was going to make a New Year's Resolution. I didn't know what that meant but now I do. A New Year's Resolution is when you promise to do something you always wanted to do but never got a round twit.

Mummy says she wants to stop using the piano as a book shelf and learn to play it. She said she always wanted to get a round twit but she is determined to next year.

Mrs Wright said that she wants to lose a stone. She said she couldn't really use not getting a round twit as an excuse but she will definitely get a round twit next year. I've got lots of stones I collected from the beach in Blackpool. She can have one of those to lose if she really wants.

Anyway, I know what my New Year's Resolution is. When I find a shop that sells them, I'm going to buy everyone a round twit. And when I have a round twit I'm going to teach the dog how to say "pancakes".
