As Kate emerged from Buckingham Palace with her new husband, ready to be whisked off by helicopter for a UK weekend mini-moon, she eschewed designer labels and chose instead to travel in a stylish ensemble from high street haven Zara.
The new Duchess of Cambridge looked pretty in a cornflower-blue belted dress costing £49.99, which she teamed with a simple black jacket, and £129.99 LK Bennett patent cork wedges.
She teamed her cute coat with white jeans and £120 Riva ballet pumps by Tory Burch.
The girls' relatively frugal post-wedding outfits were in sharp contrast to the £60,000 bill for the big day outfits ( a cool £40,000 for the bridal gown, and £20,000 for the bridesmaid), proving that, as long as you pick the right pieces, you can look fabulous in high street as well as big name designers.
