When you're getting married to a prince in front of two billion people, you'd be forgiven for splashing out on a professional makeup artist for the big day.

But not for down-to-earth Kate Middleton - who decided to apply her wedding makeup herself.

Very daring.

But wedding planner Mark Niemierko revealed the princess was well prepared, after receiving lessons from London makeup artist Arabella Preston.

He told the Daily Mail just before the wedding: '"She had about three or four lessons with Kate at her private flat in Chelsea and has also gone, very privately to Clarence House. Arabella was suppose to be coming on the day as well but now she isn't, because Kate's comfortable and confident in doing it herself."

Mark went on to say Kate didn't want the professional help because she wanted to "keep some normality".

And the result? We think she did an amazing job, with well-defined eyes and perfect pink cheeks. What do you think? Should Kate have hired a professional makeup artist, or did she pull it off herself? Let us know below...
