An exclusive retrospective exhibition opens in the Metropolitan Museam of Art in New York tomorrow, celebrating the work of the late, great British designer, Alexander McQueen.
Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty features over 100 designs from throughout Lee McQueen's 19-year career, from that spray-paint dress and the controversial Highland Rape show, to the fantastical creations from his final collection.
The exhibition opened to press today to coincide with last night's Costume Institiute Gala, which also, rather fittingly, was a celebration of all things McQueen.
So what with the unveiling of the Sarah Burton designed royal wedding dress on Friday, and now the unveiling of this fittingly fashionable memorial, McQueen is definitely the name on everybody's lips this week.
The Savage Beauty exhibition is showing at the Met Museum until the end of July.
God save McQueen.
