A boy of NINE has been arrested for DRINK DRIVING.

The youngster was pulled over by police in Cumbria, but amazingly did not face prosecution because he was too young to be held responsible for his actions.

The astounding story is just one of many under-18s who have been nicked in the north of England over the past two years.

Other tween tearaways included four 11-year-olds and a 10-year-old arrested for car theft, a 12-year-old picked up for aggravated vehicle taking, and a 10-year-old Durham boy arrested for car theft.

The crimes make up just a few of the 2,467 juvenile arrests in the north of England for misdemeanours including car theft, aggravated vehicle taking, drink driving and under-age driving.

What do you think? Shocked or just a sign of the times?
