Drunk Driver Mum Spared Jail

Drunk Driver Mum Spared Jail

PA

A mum who had drunk two litres of wine was seen by police officers staggering to her car, which had her five and nine-year-old children inside.

Sharon Scott, 40, of Macclesfield, Cheshire, was stopped by the officers and found to be more than double the legal alcohol limit for driving.

The mum admitted drinking more than two bottles of wine and then driving, but told magistrates she had turned to drink because her parents had died.

Magistrates spared her a prison sentence, but banned her from driving for two years, and slapped her with a 12-month community order.

The chairman of the bench Rosemary Pike told her: "You have shown remorse and you did co-operate."

More than two bottles of wine though.

Would you ever consider driving your kids?
