Award-winning writer Jimmy McGovern has branded The Only Way Is Essex "the biggest suicide note in British TV history".
Jimmy said the reality show would kill off future teen dramas because it is so cheap to make. TOWIE, which won the YouTube Audience Award at this year's TV Baftas, is made by Lime Pictures, who are also behind Hollyoaks.
