Yes. I love the Harry Potter books, but I think it's a little silly to fly over just for the movie. A few years ago, a Krispy Kreme doughnut shop opened outside of Denver, Colorado. It was one of the first Krispy Kremes in the U.S. West. There was such hype about it that lines were >4 hours long even in the dead of night. Around the same time, Denver International Airport started its direct flights from Denver to Frankfort (Germany). A couple of young German girls heard about the fuss and flew over from Frankfort, waited in line, bought the doughnuts, and flew right back to Frankfort. Of course they were interviewed by local TV stations and had their moment of fame broadcast on the news. They seemed to enjoy it. To each his own. Silly can be fun too.

You can buy Krispie Kreme doughnuts in every UK Tesco.  One quid a pop.   I have yet to see one sell.

Yes, I don't see (or taste) the attraction either.

People FLYING to London to see this movie???? Hollywood trumps the real news and that is a huge part of the problem. People need to get their "own" life!

Book lovers, film lovers, they hold certain stories close to their hearts. Imagination can be a wonderful, powerful thing. It can give us hope or help us see our way with daily problems, show us how to deal with situations (or imagine how to deal with situations) we might never experience in 'real' life.

I think that people who love the Harry Potter series of books and films are passionate about them. I applaud them for caring about a bit of fantasy so deeply. It looks like a great big party and I wish I could be there, too! Looks like fun.
