Gay Sex Scene Cut From UK Version Of Torchwood

PRESS ASSOCIATION -- John Barrowman has reportedly had a sex scene edited out of Torchwood: Miracle Day.

The TV star, reprising his role as omnisexual time-traveller Captain Jack in the Doctor Who spin-off, apparently has a liaison with a barman in the raunchy episode, featuring shots of Jack's behind.

The scene was filmed for the third episode, and has already been shown on US cable channel Starz, which co-financed the sci-fi drama - but is expected to be cut from the BBC One version, said The Sun.

The BBC confirmed "minimal" changes have been made to the British series, but didn't reveal which scenes failed to make the final cut.

"The UK and US versions of Torchwood are slightly different. However these differences do not change the story in any way and the strong storylines are first and foremost to the series," a spokeswoman said.

She added that it is normal for co-productions to have slightly different edits because of their different audiences.

John has warned about the raunchiness of the fourth series, saying: "If you're under the age of 13 and you don't know the facts of life, you shouldn't be watching this series.

"Because I'm naked in one episode - I am full-on naked. I am bumping and grinding in this one. I am having man sex and it's fantastic."

Torchwood: Miracle Day continues on BBC One on Thursdays.
