The Barclays English Premier League kicks off on August 13th, which means one thing for armchair football fanatics: it’s time to get your fantasy team in order.

The winner will be interviewed and featured on the Huffington Post next year and, depending on participation, may be awarded a mystery prize to salute their tactical genius.

The rules are simple enough: You have 100 million pounds to spend on a squad of fifteen players. Every week, select the eleven players that you think will perform the best to be eligible for points. Players rack up points for scoring, assists, playing full matches and more, while points are lost for fouls. This year, bonus points will also be awarded for the top three players in each match, according to the EA Sports Player Performance Index. See the rules in more detail here.

Will you go for the proven striker with a top four team? Or the young, unpredictable hotshot at an up-and-coming club? Choose wisely, because if you do, you might just be crowned the The Huffington Post’s smartest football fan.

Some hot picks for this year’s season:

Sergio Aguero - Manchester City

Manchester City’s most expensive signing of the summer (which is saying a lot) comes with a fearsome reputation from Spain’s La Liga. If he can adapt to the rough and tumble of the English game, he could easily eclipse the goalscoring record of countryman Carlos Tevez.

Luis Suarez - Liverpool

The young striker from Uruguay made an immediate impact at Anfield, after joining from Ajax in January 2011. Over the course of the full season, he is surely a contender for this season’s Golden Boot.

Ashley Young - Manchester United

The former Aston Villa speedster can now look forward to partnering with fellow goal threats Javier Hernandez and Wayne Rooney. If he gets enough games, expect big things from the talented Englishman.
