Is John Travolta Joining The Expendables Sequel?

PRESS ASSOCIATION -- John Travolta could be appearing in The Expendables sequel.

Rumours are rife that the Hairspray star could be making a cameo in the all-star action adventure after studio boss David Varod revealed his name was on a casting list.

As well as John, David, the CEO of Bulgaria-based NU Boyana studios, where the film is be shot, also mentioned Chuck Norris and Jean-Claude Van Damme, along with the previous cast members Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mickey Rourke, Dolph Lundgren and Bruce Willis, reported Collider.

Sly - who starred, directed and co-wrote the original 2010 film - confirmed to Deadline that he will reprise his role as group leader Barney Ross, but will not be writing or directing the sequel.

Simon West (Con Air) is directing The Expendables 2, which is set to start shooting in Bulgaria from September and is scheduled for an August 2012 release.
