Michael Patrick King Will Not Be Involved In A Sex And The City Prequel

Sex And The City Film Maker: "I Have No Connection To The Prequel"

PRESS ASSOCIATION -- Michael Patrick King has revealed he has no plans to work on the Sex And The City prequel.

The 56-year-old, who wrote, produced and directed the two big-screen adaptations of the hit TV show, has little interest in the third film in the franchise, rumoured to be a prequel, reported Deadline.

As he did the rounds on his new comedy 2 Broke Girls, Michael said: "I'm not working on any Sex And The City prequel at all."

The film is tipped to follow Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Samantha (Kim Cattrall), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) from their teens through to their 20s, and would be based on author Candace Bushnell's novels The Carrie Diaries and Summer And The City.

"I haven't read Candace Bushnell's books. My Carrie Bradshaw started at 33 and I took her to 43 - I don't even want to know who Carrie Bradshaw's parents are," Michael continued.

"The idea of going backward, making her less evolved, is something that I can't even imagine doing. I have no connection to the prequel."
