Anne Hathaway has revealed that she feels the extra pressure of taking on the role of Emma in the forthcoming adaptation of One Day, the bestselling novel by David Nicholls.

American Hathaway has adopted a Yorkshire accent for the part, for which fans of the book clamoured to go instead to Brit actress Carey Mulligan. Viewers of preview screenings of the film have indeed variously commented on Hathaway being wrong for the part, with comments ranging from her unconvincing accent to her being too pretty for the feisty but plain Emma.

Proof of the pudding will be next week, when the film hits cinemas across the UK.

Recently saw Anne in Love and Other Drugs. Totally surprised that a Hollywood heavyweight like herself gratuitously got her kit off so much!
